Deerings Road before the cars!
As noted on the home page, this wonderful postcard on the right, showing Deerings Road early in the century, recently came to light when it was sent to us by Paul Walters at OldReigate.com the local website that charts the pictorial history of the whole area. It is the only such picture I know of showing Deerings Road during this period. You can see the turning into Eversfield Road on the right which appears narrower than it is today. You can also see the ironwork on some of the brick walls, much of which has now sadly gone. If anyone else has either photos from relatives or other postcards of the road, please please please get in touch. It would help to fill out the history of the road. And thanks again to Paul!
